Doors, and windows, roughly done the smae way. Doors rough opening (RO) is needed. Each door company has its own way of measuring. so check with that company you want. I frame to the RO with 2 x8 or 2 x10. (which will be used up later for blocking, etc.

I frame it out, lay the block in full all the way around the house, cut out where the door goes, put the frame in, level itbrace it, and keep stacking block to the frame.
